Don't let your healthy fresh produce got to waste, here are a few simple tips that will take a small fraction of your time before packing away your groceries... but remember it's going to help keep your fruit and vegetables fresher for longer!
Tip 1.
Keep asparagus bunches in a glass of water in the fridge, this will keep the stems from drying out (broccoli can also be stored in the same way)
Tip 2.
Wrap celery (lop the tops) in aluminium foil and store in vegetable drawer in the fridge to keep them crisp for weeks
Tip 3.
Onions and potatoes can release moisture and gas, so to avoid them from rotting keep them in seperate storage baskets
Tip 4.
Keep lettuce heads in a lettuce crisper...No more soggy lettuce!
Tip 5.
Keep ripe tomatoes at room temperature, away from sunlight. If you keep tomatoes in the fridge this can cause them to change texture, lose flavour and become powdery.
